Need a relaxing self care day? This beautiful picnic area at Forgan Park is perfect for some lunch outside in the fresh air.

The drive there is nice too. Close to the suburbs, but you feel much further out than you actually are. If you like photography you can really take some gorgeous shots here.

We stopped at a local bakery on the way for a delicious chicken and salad roll, some drinks and a sweet treat. I packed along with me my picnic blanket, a small tray table, and a paint by numbers I picked up from Kmart for only $10! You can even get a 3 pack for just $12.

We just sat and painted together whilst listening to the calming sounds around us. Enjoyed our lunch and chatted. You can pack a BBQ feast or even do a spot of fishing here if you have a permit.

It was a really rejuvenating day. A lovely little escape. We were the only ones there on the day, so it was very quiet and peaceful. If you know of any other beautiful picnic spots to check out, please let us know in the comments!

Parking is very close next to toilets, picnic area and BBQ.

🔒 Security

We went during the day and felt safe. I personally wouldn't go at night due to how isolated it is. This would be a personal preference.

🐾 Pet Policy

I am unsure for this one, please contact seqwater for more information.

All I could find was: "unless you are in an approved designated dog on leash area, leave your pets at home. Dogs and other domestic animals can disturb the wildlife that live in our natural areas."

We went on a weekday and were the only ones there. Could be very popular on weekends.
