Supernova is a fun day celebrating all things nerdy, geeky, movies, TV shows, gaming, and pop culture - and the best part is, it’s FREE for carers/companion card holders when attending with a paid ticket! We went back in 2023 and had an absolute blast. It is coming up again this year from November 7th-9th and tickets are already on sale.

Four people in Star Wars costumes, including a Stormtrooper and Darth Vader, stand in front of a "501st Legion" banner at a convention.

As a massive Star Wars nerd, I was thrilled to hear that the 501st Legion would be there. I’ve seen them cosplay many times before, but it’s always a highlight for me.

I’m also a big gamer, so spotting people dressed up as video game characters was incredible. The creativity and effort that goes into these cosplays is just amazing!

There was so much to see and do at Supernova. I caught some fantastic panels where stars shared their experiences. I especially enjoyed listening to Ben Prendergast, who played Tyr in God of War, and Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian.

If your budget allows, you can also grab a photo or autograph from the stars. I was lucky enough to have a friend gift me the chance to take a photo with Temuera Morrison. Meeting Boba Fett himself - what a moment!

Of course, there were plenty of nerdy goodies to buy and delicious food trucks to explore. I couldn't help myself and accidentally came home with these. Hey, I still have that purse now, so it was a good investment!

Overall, we had a wonderful day, and it felt like great value for money. I’d absolutely go again, especially if there are stars I’m excited to see, or just to check out the latest cosplay trends from what’s currently popular.

Are you planning to go this year? What are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments!
